Vintage Art Deco Maling Lucerne Pattern Octagonal Shape Fruit Bowl
Large lustreware fruit bowl from Maling, in the Lucerne Pattern. On the outside featuring a very attractive burnt orange accentuated with a deep broader of peaches, grapes and vine leaves. Internally the bowl is a lovely blue colour with a central motif of matching fruit.
Bowl is fully stamped to the base as in picture (marked “Maling, Lucerne, Newcastle-On-Tyne, England”) and has the numbers 5306 (or 5300) and letter E hand-painted in green next to the back stamp.
The bowl has one hairline crack and wear to the gilt-edge rim but still a very decorative and usable item.
